Update, June 2020: Due to the current public health situation, plans for our annual conference have changed. Please visit this post for more information.
The 70th annual meeting of the New York State Association of European Historians will be held at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, N.Y. on October 23-24, 2020. The conference begins on Friday evening with a social gathering, dinner, and the plenary lecture; paper panels are on Saturday.
The Association encourages submissions that touch upon all aspects of European history, and we particularly welcome papers that connect Europe with wider global perspectives. In addition to traditional academic papers, we are also interested in individual or full session proposals that address issues in pedagogy. We have also had members bring groups of their advanced undergraduate students both to observe and to present their work and welcome proposals for student sessions. The Association prides itself on providing a welcoming and collegial atmosphere at the conference, and we very strongly encourage graduate students and independent scholars to submit proposals, including papers based on work(s)-in-progress.
Proposals for papers and/or panels should include a 100-150 word abstract for each paper. Email proposals to NYSAEH president, David A. Valone (firstname.lastname@example.org) by June 1, 2020. Please include a brief c.v. with your proposal.
